Syllabus Options Test preparation for the next generation

A syllabus is a "study plan." If you are using Barron's How to Prepare for the iBT TOEFL, 12th Edition, there are three options from which to choose. The estimated number of hours for each option is the minimum time that is required to complete the plan.

The Standard Syllabus requires 16 weeks and 80 hours of your time but it is the best option because it allows you to study about 5 hours each week and you can build in some review if you need it. Click here to see this option.

The Accelerated Syllabus also requires 80 hours but it is possible to complete it in half the time by making a commitment to studying about 10 hours each week. Accelerated means "fast." This calendar does not include time for review. Click here to see this option.

The Abbreviated Syllabus should be chosen only when you can not find the time in your schedule to follow one of the other calendars. Abbreviated means "shorter." This calendar does not allow you to complete all of the study materials in the book. Click here to see this option.
